Canada a desired location for Guantanamo Bay detainees.

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/02/03/guantanamo-detainees-canada.html

The World around us just gets curiouser and curiouser.

Here is what one commenter on the CBC site had to say about this;

"I would accept them only on the basis of a "terrorist Exchange" program.

We take the GITMO terrorists in exchange, they take CUPE."

  1. Morning Comrade. What is Gitmo but Abu Ghraib offshore-to evade American law? Never should have been. It's lawless. How many hearts and minds did that win? Traded off freedom for security and lost both. If they even had any, which I believe is the 'American Illusion'. Canadian too. Linden McIntyre did a fine report on Mayerthorpe, last night. I look for more to come out about Khadr/Arar/RCMP/Feds. Charles posted an eye-opening link to information uncovered by a journalist who wrote a book about the history of successive PMs who collude with the RCMP to sustain an 'illusion of Democracy'. No media would interview this man and they all tried in many ways to shut him down. So, the book was published and no matter what the machine does-the TRUTH will prevail. Who will hear it? Then there's the Tazer. Great. Judge and Jury not needed. Punishment is just a click away. Lawless. A father in the US was sentenced to fifteen years for training his child with a shock collar. What will happen to those in the latest here, while the young girl was in the cell being Tazered? And the fact that a Fire Captain testified that RCMP tried to stop them from helping the victim at Vancouver Airport, spoke volumes to me. And another thing is the incident where the deceased 'escaped custody' and froze to death in northern Saskatchewan. Yeah, right. I think they're known as 'Moonlight Rides'. Same as not investigating missing and murdered women, most of whom are Aboriginal. Some sort of sick, hate-filled culling of humanity. Seems to be a running, well-protected theme. Someone at Garth's is posting on that topic, actually. Tough on crime, my God, they ARE crime.

  2. Poppavox? I've posted twice at A Human Future and they just don't make it. Good to hear you though.:)

  3. What was the gist of Linden McIntyre's piece on Mayerthorpe Linda? That seems to be another shrouded in smoke scenario that gives me an odd feeling whenever I hear bits and pieces.

  4. Exactly Comrade, bits & pieces of the same old-same old. The gist to me, 'justice' w/vengeance- seen to be done. Undercover schemes with a naive young person who made up a story to impress his 'new friends'. A coerced confession from the husband who pled guilty so he could be back with his family-he would NOT risk four life sentences. Remember David Millgarde? Lynn Truscott? There is a very distict pattern in law enforcement to put someone, anyone, away to appease and comfort the public. Now with the Tazer they can eliminate the middle-people at their discretion- lawyers, judges, juries. If anyone doesn't think we live in a Police-State/World now--wakey, wakey...

  5. Hey Comrade, nice way Mr. Duffy is working for our Confederation, I see. I hope Danny Williams is our PM someday. Show 'em how it's done. What a bunch of lying shysters- the CPC/CTV Alliance. I couldn't even stomach watching the Steve & Lloyd Robertson interview. Someone at Garth's wants the Feds to sell off Quebec, the Maritimes and the CBC. Must be the Duffmiester.
