This item shall remain untitled as I couldn't think of something appropriate without much swearing.

Harper decrees his watch probably the most important in the History of Canada.

“He called the budget probably the most important in the country's history.”

I wonder how much this is going to cost the citizens of Canada? You know, the other Nation.

Caisse lost $38-billion in 2008: report

Reuters

Friday, February 06, 2009

OTTAWA — Canada's biggest pension-fund manager, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, lost a staggering $38-billion last year, mainly because of falling stock prices, La Presse reported on Friday.

No wonder Sarkozy told the "Quebec" separatists to STFU. In so many words.

    Er, isn't that what started this whole mess? And what happens after three years?

  3. In your link on Afghan Herb, there is another link to where the Sperts say this;

    PIERRE SPREY: Yeah, the military approach is always and the conventional think tank approach and the General Petraeus approach is, first, we'll establish security.

    MARILYN YOUNG: Right. That's-

    PIERRE SPREY: And then we'll fix the government.

    MARILYN YOUNG: Right.

    PIERRE SPREY: That doesn't work. In fact, that's already failed. And the more we try to fix the security situation, the more we will drive these people, particularly the Pashtun, into implacable opposition. And whether the military solution is more bombing from Predators or from F-16s or more special forces on the ground, you know, attacking villages and inadvertently killing lots of civilians, it doesn't matter. As long as security comes first, the mission will fail because these people are sick and tired of a government that's oppressing them and a foreigner who's killing them.

    Although I agree with a number of the often-heard sentiments they repeat, such as kill one insurgent, create 10 more. In this type of action, that is true. I can't agree with their overall point of view unless one goes entirely with the limited engagement strategy thinking of Korean war era and since.

    Whether motivated by economics or political considerations or both, the results are the same. War isn't won by limited engagement strategy. Destabilization on the other hand, can be achieved if that is in fact the goal at hand.

  4. Hello Comrade One. Good to hear you Herb, on Mr. Rae. I agree with you on Mr. Dion in the previous, too. My new MP is Phil McColeman of McColeman Bro's Builders & Developers. Wonder how much our town will benefit. Not only has home-building stopped due to the economy, they're building on DISPUTED LAND! (Brantford & Caledonia.) Protests have been effective at many sites. As First Nations was saying in our local paper 'we are not a bunch of punks here- we're Grandmothers and Grandfathers'...
